Holidays in April –
A spring vacation in South Tyrol:
first blossom and melted snow air
…
If you spend a spring holiday in South Tyrol, you will experience two worlds. The ski area on the Alpe di Siusi and in Val Gardena is open until mid- April. In the mountains, it’s still winter, and the slopes are still good for skiing. At this time of the year, snow hikers enjoy their finest excursions through the snow. The apple blossom in the valleys has already welcomed spring. There’s an ocean of white, bright pink and red blooms, and it fills the air with a fresh scent. Up on the mountains, there’s winter sports, down in the valley, walking and bike riding. That is a spring holiday in South Tyrol.
Spring holidays at the mountain farm Ronsol, Alpe di Siusi, near Castelrotto…
The mountain farm Ronsol lies at 1280 meters above sea level. In May you can admire the lion’s tooth blossom in the meadows and around the farm. Most of the hiking trails around Castelrotto are free of snow in April. As nature awakens, wonderful walks to the tune of the first cuckoos’ calls and the special scent of spring can be enjoyed. We would recommend walks to San Osvaldo and to the “Pflegerhof”, a well-known herb farm in Castelrotto. For paragliders, our mountain farm Ronsol is a perfect base – as it is for all horse-riding lovers.

On average South Tyrol enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year. However, sometimes it rains here too. Nevertheless, you don’t need to worry about a rainy day. The kids find many things to do in the playroom. Time flies when you play table football, table tennis, board games or reading. You can also take part in a course, where we will introduce you to the preparation of natural yoghurt from our cow milk.
Culture, spa and sport…
Things to do in South Tyrol apart from hiking
An alternative to hiking is a visit to the Prösels Castle, the Farmer’s Museum at the farm Tschötscherhof, the School Museum at Tagusa or to any of the 60 other museums in South Tyrol. On chilly days, an adventure to the secret labyrinth, the Villandro mine, is a great experience. Not far from our farm, there is an indoor climbing center with 1500 grips, 80 walls and bowling alleys. Moreover, what about a day at a spa for a change? The thermal baths in Merano, the Mar Dolomit in Ortisei or the Acquarena in Bressanone have large pools and the finest selection of spa facilities.
